What this site knows about you.
Draft. This describes what the website itself does. The Centre needs to review it, add a contact address for data questions, and confirm how long member accounts are kept before this page is published.
If you just read the site
Nothing is stored about you. There is no analytics package, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no third-party script of any kind on these pages. The typefaces are served from this site's own server rather than a font CDN, so no other company is handed your IP address when a page loads.
If you create an account
The Centre stores exactly four things:
- Your name so we can greet you properly
- Your email address it is how you sign in
- Your password, hashed never the password itself
- Whether you asked for the bulletin off unless you tick it
The password is stored as a one-way hash. Nobody at the Centre can read it, which is also why nobody at the Centre can tell you what it was if you forget it.
Cookies
One cookie, set only when you sign in, which keeps you signed in. It is marked HttpOnly and Secure, so it cannot be read by scripts and never travels over an unencrypted connection. There are no other cookies.
The Red light setting is remembered in your browser's own local storage rather than in a cookie. It never leaves your device and is not sent to the server.
Getting your data, or getting rid of it
Signed in, you can download everything held about you as a file, or delete your account outright, from your personal data page. Deleting the account removes the record; it is not a flag or a soft delete.
Where it is kept
Member records live in a single database file on the server that hosts this site. They are not shared with anyone, sold to anyone, or used for anything other than running the members' area and — if you asked for it — sending the bulletin.
